Lenovo Replacement Battery Solutions for ThinkPad, Legion and ThinkBook
This Lenovo replacement battery set consists of five items: the 2024 ThinkBook and Legion Pro models with capacities ranging from 80 to 99.9Wh, the 68+ rear pack for the ThinkPad X240 to T470p series, the 47++ classic version for the X200, and two Legion Go packs. Each battery is matched by its FRU part number and we verify that it fits before you make the payment.
Four generations of Lenovo, one of them is yours. Pick it in the finder below.
How Do You Pick the Right Lenovo Battery?
Three checks before you order. Two minutes of reading saves the wrong-pack round trip.
Read the FRU on the old pack
Shut down, unplug, and pull the pack or open the bottom panel. The label carries a line that reads FRU P/N. That number decides everything. A "Legion 5 battery" search matches half a dozen incompatible packs; an FRU like L19M4PC0 matches exactly one.
Modern packs use L-codes (L23C4P72, L22D4PC2), classics use 42T and 45N numbers. Same rule for all of them: type the FRU, not the laptop name.
Match the generation
2023 and newer machines (ThinkPad T16, Legion Pro, ThinkBook G6 and up) take internal packs from the 12-FRU variant listing, 57 to 99.9Wh. The 2014 to 2017 ThinkPads take the rear-swappable 68+ pack. The X200 and X201 era takes the 47++ latch-out pack.
Legion handhelds are their own thing: the Legion Go 8APU1 takes the L23M2PK0 family and nothing else on this page.
Let us confirm before you pay
This is the part most shops skip. Send a photo of your old battery label, or your machine type from the sticker under the laptop, and we confirm the exact variant before the order goes through. Wrong-FRU orders are the number one return reason in this category, and this step kills them.
After the swap: seat the connector flat, run one full shutdown (not sleep), and let Lenovo Vantage see the new pack.
The Four Lenovo Battery Groups
Everything in the Lenovo collection lands in one of four buckets. Find your bucket and the order is nearly done.

The L23M2PK0 family in two sizes: 49.2Wh at factory spec, or 81Wh for longer sessions. Both $49.99, both fit the Legion Go 8APU1 (83E1 machine codes).
The 81Wh pack ships with a tool because the connector clip fights back; the 49.2Wh ships with the battery alone.
Buy the Legion Go 81Wh batteryHow Lenovo Names a Battery
Lenovo part numbers look random until you see the three patterns. Then they read like dates.
Three prefixes, three eras
42T numbers (42T4649, 42T4834) are the 2008 to 2012 removable packs. 45N numbers (45N1124, 45N1126) are the 2014 to 2017 generation. Modern internal packs use two-block L-codes like L23C4P72 or L22D4PC2, often with 5B11 and SB11 order codes pointing at the same physical part.
The prefix tells you the era before you even open the laptop. A 42T pack never fits an L-code machine, and no adapter changes that.
The plus signs are capacity tiers
On the classic removable packs, labels read 47+ or 47++. More plus signs, more cells, longer runtime. The pack we ship for the X200 family is the 47++ tier at 85Wh, the biggest battery that machine ever took from the factory.
On modern packs the tier system disappears; the FRU alone decides capacity, which is why the variant table below lists Wh per FRU.
The machine type shortcut
No old pack to read? Use the machine type from the sticker under the laptop. The X200 listing carries them directly: 7454, 7455 and 7458 for the X200, 7465 for the X200s. Legion machines use 82xx and 83xx codes, like 82Y9 and 82YA for the Legion Slim 5 16.
Or open Lenovo Vantage, go to Device, then Power, then Battery Details, and the part number shows on screen. Send us either number and we confirm the match.

68+ rear pack: X240 to T470p generation
The battery that slides into the back of the machine and pops out without a shutdown. 11.4V, 24Wh, 3-cell. This listing is the rear-swappable position; if your old pack lives under the bottom panel instead, send us its FRU and we will confirm what fits.
47++ pack: X200 and X201 classics, tablet included
85Wh of extended runtime for the last latch-out ThinkPads, and on this listing the X200 Tablet is in the fit list, not out of it. Compatibility runs on the 42T4649 FRU with equivalents from 42T4535 through 43R9255, plus spare part 45N1171.
Legion Go 8APU1: pick your capacity
Both packs carry the L23M2PK0 family numbers and fit the same 8APU1 handheld (83E1 machine codes). The 49.2Wh is the factory-spec replacement at 4 cells. The 81Wh stretches runtime with 6 cells for the same price, and ships with a tool for the stiff connector clip. If your sessions die mid-boss-fight, you already know which one you want.

What a dying Lenovo pack looks like
- Runtime collapse. Six hours becomes 40 minutes. That is cell wear, not a Windows update.
- Runs only on the cord. Pull the plug and it dies instantly. The pack is finished.
- Charging misbehaves. Cannot reach full charge, or charging stops at a random percentage. Both are listed warranty defects on our policy page, which tells you how common they are.
- Health numbers. Lenovo Vantage shows battery health under Device, then Power, then Battery Details. On any Windows 10 or 11 machine,
powercfg /batteryreportin Command Prompt prints DESIGN CAPACITY against FULL CHARGE CAPACITY. Our warranty treats 80 percent capacity remaining after a year as normal wear, so that is a sensible replacement line. - Swelling or a bulging case. Stop using the machine now. Unplug it, do not press the pack, take it to a battery recycling point. Do not bin it.
Half the questions we answer are "will this fit my machine" with a photo of the battery label attached. The photo settles it in seconds. The laptop model name alone never does.
The swap, by generation
- Modern internal packs. Loosen the bottom panel screws, lift the panel, unplug the battery connector first, swap the pack, close it up. The listing claims installation under 90 seconds; take five unhurried minutes instead and keep the screws in one place.
- 68+ rear pack. Slide the back latch, the pack pops out, clip the new one in. No tools, no shutdown. This is the whole reason people still love this generation.
- 47++ classic. Same latch logic as the 68+, on an even older machine. The latch mechanism from 2008 still works; that should tell you something about these laptops.
- Legion Go. Pop the back cover, disconnect the battery lead before anything else, then swap. The connector clip fights back, which is why the 81Wh pack ships with a tool.
After any internal swap: seat the connector flat, do one full shutdown and restart, then check Vantage sees the new pack before you call it done.
Why Buy Your Lenovo Battery Here
The four promises on every order, straight from our policy pages.
Tracked shipping, two routes
Orders are processed within 0 to 3 business days after payment. US warehouse deliveries run 2 to 7 business days; the China warehouse covers Australia, Canada and the UK in 7 to 17. Every order ships with a tracking number by email.
60-day returns
Sixty days from delivery, unused and not installed, original packaging, proof of purchase. Defective, damaged or wrong item? We cover the return shipping or send a free replacement. Change of mind: buyer covers the return, restocking fee may apply.
1-year warranty
Every battery carries a 1-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, and each unit is tested before shipment. Charging failures and abnormally short runtime are covered; physical abuse and tampering are not.
Fit confirmed before you pay
Email support@laptopbatteriesadapters.com or WhatsApp +86 18570679070 with your FRU or machine type, and a human confirms the exact pack before the order goes through.
Cells, Chips and Certifications
What is inside the packs we ship, and how they talk to your Lenovo.
What is inside
Grade A cells, every pack. The modern variants name their own supply: Samsung 50E and LG M50T 5000mAh cells on the L22D4PC2, for example. Every unit is tested for function and safety before it leaves the shelf, and the packs are rated for 500-plus charge cycles to 80 percent capacity.
A smart BMS guards against overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, short circuit and thermal runaway. The L22D4PC2 even lists its controller: a TI BQ40Z50 chip. RapidCharge still works, 0 to 80 percent in under an hour on a 65W or bigger adapter.
What FRU-matched means here
You order an FRU, you get that FRU family, not a same-shape substitute. The variant table above is the same map our packing bench works from, and fit is confirmed before payment when you ask.
Being straight with you: these are quality third-party replacements sold by ZhanPeng (Changsha Liping Technology Co., Ltd.). We are not affiliated with Lenovo, and nothing on this page should read otherwise. The Lenovo and ThinkPad names belong to their owner; our job is the pack that behaves like the original for less money.

Lenovo Battery FAQ
The questions that land in our inbox, answered once and for all.
Typical lifespan lands at 2 to 4 years, roughly 300 to 500 full charge cycles, with heavy gaming and constant heat pushing toward the low end. The packs we ship are rated for 500-plus cycles to 80 percent capacity. If your X200 is still running, chances are you are already on the second or third battery; these laptops outlive their packs by years.
The reliable signs: runtime has collapsed, the machine only runs plugged in, charging stops at a random percentage, or it shuts down without warning at 20 or 30 percent remaining. Swelling is the stop-everything sign. Our warranty policy treats 80 percent capacity remaining after a year as normal wear, which makes the low 80s a sensible replacement line. Check the health number before you decide anything.
Three ways, all free. Lenovo Vantage: Device, then Power, then Battery Details shows condition and cycle count. Command Prompt on any Windows 10 or 11 machine: run powercfg /batteryreport and compare FULL CHARGE CAPACITY against DESIGN CAPACITY; a wide gap is a worn pack. Many ThinkPads also run a battery test inside the BIOS diagnostics at boot. Do this before ordering, because the health number tells you whether the battery is actually the problem.
On everything we sell, yes. The 68+ rear pack and the 47++ classic swap through the back latch: no tools, no shutdown. Modern internal packs need the bottom panel off: a small screwdriver, one connector, and the listing claims installation in under 90 seconds (take five unhurried minutes instead). The Legion Go pops its back cover, and the 81Wh pack ships with a tool for the stiff connector clip. One caution from the repair world: if the machine is still under a manufacturer warranty, check whether opening it affects that warranty first.
Laptop batteries are not universal, even inside one brand. Match the FRU P/N printed on your old pack's label: modern machines use L-codes like L22D4PC2, classics use 42T and 45N numbers. No label to read? Vantage shows the part number under Device, then Power, then Battery Details, and Lenovo's parts lookup accepts your machine type and serial number. Two quick examples: the 42T4649 47++ covers X200, X200s, X200 Tablet, X201, X201i and X201s; the Legion Go 8APU1 takes the L23M2PK0 family. Send us any of those numbers and we confirm the exact pack before you pay.
Work down this list before assuming the pack is dead. Plug the AC adapter straight into the wall, not a power strip. Open Vantage and check Conservation Mode: it caps charging at roughly 60 to 80 percent by design, so a battery parked at 60 percent may be perfectly healthy. Let the pack cool, because charging pauses at temperature extremes. In Device Manager, uninstall and reinstall the Microsoft ACPI Battery driver. And after any swap, do one full shutdown and restart, not sleep. If Vantage still reports a battery error after all that, contact us with the order number.
In this collection: $49.99 for either Legion Go pack, $52.99 for the 68+ rear pack, $79.99 for the 47++ X200 classic, and $59.99 to $89.99 by FRU variant on the modern listing. For context, repair-shop replacement quotes typically land between $120 and $180 once parts and labor are counted, so a matched self-fit pack is usually the cheaper route by half.
Honest version: we sell quality third-party replacements, not originals, and we are not affiliated with Lenovo. What you give up is the logo. What you keep, on a good aftermarket pack, is the function: Grade A cells (some variants name them, like Samsung 50E and LG M50T), UL and CE safety certification, function-and-safety testing before dispatch, and an SMBus chip so Vantage and RapidCharge still work. Buy original when a corporate policy demands OEM; buy a quality replacement when value matters.
Only inside the same FRU family, never across it. On the X200 generation, the 47++ 85Wh is the top tier that machine ever took from the factory. On the Legion Go, both capacities fit the same 8APU1: 49.2Wh factory spec or 81Wh extended, at the same $49.99. On modern internal packs the capacity is fixed by the FRU variant, so there is no up-tier move. And voltages never cross: an 11.4V pack and a 15.44V pack are not interchangeable, full stop.
Check health first. Aging cells are the most common cause and everything else is noise until that is ruled out. If health is fine, the usual suspects: heavy background load from browser tabs and sync apps, clogged fans running the machine hot, gaming on battery, and a pack parked at 100 percent charge for months on a desk. Practical fixes: turn on Vantage Conservation Mode while docked, keep the vents clear, and let the battery cycle down occasionally instead of living at full.
