Acer Adapter Charger Solutions — Replacement Power Adapters for Aspire, Nitro, Swift & Predator
The charger for the Acer laptop has failed, leaving the laptop inoperable until the issue is resolved. When selecting a replacement charger for the Acer laptop, three key factors must be taken into account: wattage, voltage, and the configuration of the connector tip, as Acer is known for using two distinct barrel sizes in addition to USB-C in its newer models. We offer OEM-quality adapters manufactured by Chicony, the same factory that produces Acer's original chargers.

What Is an Acer Laptop Charger — and How Do You Match One?
This is the case: the majority of incorrect orders are due to the plug rather than the power. Since Acer employs a number of connector types, getting this aspect right is more important than anything else.
AC in, DC out — wattage is volts × amps
An Acer laptop charger transforms the alternating current from the wall into the steady direct current that your notebook requires, the voltage being usually either 19.5V or 20V. The wattage indicates how much power it is capable of supplying: laptops such as the thin Aspire and Swift models use between 45W and 100W, whereas the Nitro and Predator gaming machines require between 180W and 330W. A 330W brick (20V × 16.5A) is quite different from a 65W travel adapter.
Wattage is printed on every adapter label as volts × amps.
The tip decides the order
Acer employs two types of barrel plug that are similar in appearance but cannot be interchanged: the smaller one, measuring 5.5 × 1.7 mm, which is used on slim machines such as the Aspire 5, and the standard 5.5 × 2.5 mm plug found on Nitro and Predator gaming laptops. With the newer Acer models—such as the Swift, Spin, and some of the Aspire series—the charging is done via USB-C. You should first match the plug, then the voltage, and then the wattage, and as a result, an Acer laptop charger replacement will always fit properly.
If the plug wobbles or will not seat, you have the wrong tip — that is the Acer charger small pin trap in action.
Original or OEM — same factory, fair price
This is the situation with the original Acer laptop charger: Acer doesn't manufacture its own transformers. The adapters that come in Acer boxes are made by Chicony, and it is exactly the same Chicony models that we carry—features such as the protection circuits and the connector components being identical. Over-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature protection ensure that a faulty charger remains boring rather than dangerous.
If your old adapter is cracked or the cable is frayed, stop using it — that is a fire risk, not a wait-and-see.

⚠️ Two barrel tips, one habit: Acer thin models use the small pin (5.5 × 1.7 mm), gaming models use the standard 5.5 × 2.5 mm. They look alike and do not swap — measure your plug before ordering.

Acer Charger Quality — Small Pin, Standard Pin, and the Chicony Difference
The two things that decide whether a replacement survives: the connector it ships with, and the factory it comes from.
Chicony OEM
The same factory that makes Acer's original chargers — identical tooling and protection circuits.
Tip Verified
Small pin 5.5 × 1.7 mm vs standard 5.5 × 2.5 mm vs USB-C — each listing states its connector.
Smart IC Protection
Over-voltage, over-current, short-circuit and over-temperature protection stop faults before they spread.
Spec-Matched

Small pin vs standard pin — how to tell
Measure the inner diameter of the plug's center hole: about 1.7 mm is the Acer charger small pin used by thin Aspire models; about 2.5 mm is the standard tip on Nitro and Predator. No calipers? Take a sharp photo of the plug next to a coin and send it to us — we will identify it.
Read the label, skip the guesswork
Your old adapter's label carries the full answer: the ADP model number, output voltage, amps and wattage. Match those to a listing and the replacement behaves exactly like the original — same charge speed, same quiet hum, no BIOS warnings.
