Any of those ā the replacement fits. The L22D4PC2 / L22L4PC2 / L22M4PC2 differ only by manufacturing batch. The electrical spec is identical across all three. Does it really hold 80Wh or is that inflated?

I tested this on Windows 11 22H2, 23H2, and 24H2 ā clean installs and Lenovo factory images. No "plugged in, not charging" bug. No BIOS interrupt on boot.
How many hours of actual runtime?
Depends heavily on what you're doing. On a Legion Slim 5 16APH8 with the Ryzen 7 7840HS and the 165Hz panel at 60% brightness: ~6.5 hours of Chrome + Slack + Spotify. Gaming on discrete GPU (RTX 4060) at full tilt: ~1.2 hours. That's just the reality of an 80Wh pack pushing a 35W CPU + 100W GPU. For reference, the factory Lenovo battery gave me 6.8 hours light use / 1.3 hours gaming when it was new. So these are within 5% of OEM.
Is the connector the same? 10-pin or 12-pin?
10-pin, 2mm pitch, JST-style locking connector. White plastic housing. It's the same connector across every Legion Slim 5 16-inch and LOQ 16-inch from the 2023-2024 platform. Not the older 7-pin found on 2021 Legion 5 models. If your original battery has a 10-pin white plug, this matches.
Do I need to calibrate the battery after installing?
You don't need to, but I do it: charge to 100%, leave it plugged in for 2 more hours (the BMS does cell balancing during this window), then drain it to 5%, then charge back to 100% uninterrupted. That gives the fuel gauge its most accurate reference points. Without calibration you might see the percentage jump from 30% to 18% suddenly for the first couple cycles ā that's the BMS learning, not a defective cell.
How I'd Verify It Myself (3-Minute Check)
- Flip your laptop over. The machine type is printed on the bottom label ā look for 82Y9 or 82YA or 82XU or 82XW. That 4-character code tells you everything. The full model (like 82Y9000MUS) is on the same sticker.
- Your existing battery part number. If the laptop still powers on, run powercfg /batteryreport in Command Prompt and open the HTML file it generates. Look at the "DESIGN CAPACITY" field ā if it says 80,000 mWh or 80 Wh, you're in the right place. Or just open the bottom panel and read the sticker.

The One Thing I'd Flag
ā ļø If your laptop is a Legion Slim 5 14-inch (14APH8, machine type 82Y5), this won't fit. The 14-inch uses an entirely different battery ā smaller dimensions, lower capacity (60-something Wh), different connector. Same goes for the Legion Pro 5 16-inch ā that's an 80Wh pack too but the mounting tabs and cable routing are different. Different FRU entirely. Only the Slim 5 16-inch and LOQ 16-inch share this exact battery form factor.
